I am New Orleans created and cultured and an Austin US Air Force dependent transplant. I am a multi-certified, master reading teacher, a Johns Hopkins University Master of Arts in Teaching Writing 2021 graduate. As a teacher, I taught English, reading, and history to students with various educational needs (including special education and trauma-impacted students) in various school districts, receiving recognition for improving reading comprehension and writing skills. As a journalist, I have freelanced written for local newspapers. I am a mother of one beautiful, resilient daughter, (and one anti-social Chihuahua), and daughter of a ride-or-die mother and a loving father.
Simply put, writer. Writing is my purpose and passion, including literacy and literature. I wrote my book, Silence of My Inceptive Self, for all young women trying to figure out their first lives during an incredible silence of mine. I am honored that you purchased it and that you spent time reading my writing. I hope that my book makes you feel and reflect on your silence.
I still use poetry as an outlet to process and to understand life's joys and pains, its hills and valleys. On my socials linked below, you will find publications of my recent social justice poems and you can hear me read couple of my poems.
